Google Updates Gmail for both Mobile and Desktop, Gets New Inbox and Automatic Sorting Feature, How to Enable This For You?

Google updated the Gmail for both Desktop and Mobile App, introduced a new way to manage your inbox. This new inbox shows number of tabs at the top of Gmail’s inbox.

This tabs is used for automatically categorizes your messages into them - for your social updates from sites like Google+, Twitter, Facebook or YouTube, promotions from the likes of Google Offers and Groupon, and a kind of catch-all "Updates" tab for your bills, receipts and similar messages.

You can easily customize the Emails in your new inbox - select the tabs you want from all five to none, drag-and-drop to move messages between tabs, set certain senders to always appear in a particular tab and star messages so that they also appear in the Primary tab.

This update, which will started rolling out for all Gmail users, will be available on both the desktop and through Google’s mobile apps for iOS and Android, which should get an update early next week.

If you can’t wait, also keep an eye on the gear menu. Just follow the steps below, you will be able to turn this new feature on manually.

Steps to Enable New Gmail inbox

Sign in to your Gmail account
Click on the gear icon on top right corner
Then select "Configure inbox" from drop down
The pop up window shows you to select the tabs you want, just select and
Then click Save button, Shows "Welcome Message"
Click Okay, got it!
That's it, now you enjoy your inbox with new Feature.

If you don't like the new inbox, you can disable it at anytime by clicking te "Gear Icon".

Gmail Now Supports 6 New Indian Languages on Feature / Basic Phones - How to Enable?

Google rolled out the 6 Indic languages in Gmail on the feature phone browser, so now you can read or send you mails in your preferred languanges includes Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Marathi, Tamil, and Telugu.

"Indian culture is diverse, with more than 100 languages and thousands of alphabets used every day.Starting today, we are rolling out support for 6 Indic languages in Gmail on the feature phone browser: Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Marathi, Tamil, and Telugu." said Ian Hill, Project Manager in Gmail official blogpost.

How to Change Gmail in your choice of language

Open Gmail.
Click the gear icon in the upper right, then select Settings.
At the top of the page, select a language from the Gmail display language drop-down menu in the Language section.
Click Save Changes at the bottom of the page.

Now your Gmail interface will appear in the language of your choice after you click Save Changes. Remember, your Gmail's display language doesn't affect the language in which your messages are sent and received.

Google has launched the updated version 2.1 of Gmail app for iOS devices. Gmail v2.1 adds a new Swipe features let users to Swipe left or right to move between messages and New Edit Mode.

Google Adds More Than 1,000 Emoticons in Gmail for New Compose Window Users

Facebook announced that, "tries letting you share emoticons of exactly what you’re feeling, reading or eating" and began tests of a new status composer that lets you say "what are you doing?" last month. Here is the good news for Gmail's new compose window users, Google added more than 1,000 to its new compose window in Gmail to share "either you love them or you hate them" via email conversation.

How to Add

Hovering your mouse pointer over the '+' symbol next to send button and attachment icon (or) Use this keyboard shortcut Ctrl + Shift + 2

You can now able to add total of 1,287 in the new menu versus just 158 in the old one in your email's using new compose window. These emoticons are only availabe for Gmail's new compose window users, so update your Gmail from old to new compose window to enjoy this feature.

Note: Not available yet for Google Apps users, May be rolled out soon.

Google Rolled Out Google+ Hangouts for Gmail users in India

Google introduced Google+ Hangouts in 2011 and became a popular feature in Google+ is now available to all Gmail users in India.

Unlike the old video chat of Gmail which was based on peer-to-peer technology, Hangouts utilize the power of Google's network to deliver higher reliability and enhanced quality," said a Google blog post. "You'll be able to chat with all the people in your chat list that you did before and, in fact, with Hangouts you'll now be able to reach them not only when they are using Gmail but also if they are on Google+ in the browser or on their Android or iOS devices.

Hangouts for Gmail allows users to add up to 9 people to a voice chat. Using Hangouts, Gmail users can watch YouTube videos with their friends, collaborate on Google Docs, or play games by adding apps from a menu. You can also use virtual effects like pirate hats, moustaches, beards, halos and other personal decorations.

How to Start Google+ Hangouts

To begin using Google+ Hangouts, you have to click the Hangout button on the top of the chat list in Gmail. Users can also schedule a hangout using Google Calendar.

If no replies are received to any of the 50 SMSes sent and the credit balance come down to zero, Google says, "...it will increase back up to one 24 hours later. So, you won't ever be locked out of the system."

Just type your friend phone number in chat search box and click Send SMS on pop-up.

Then type friend name and click Save button to save the contact in your database.

After saved, The pop-up opened with your friend mobile number. Just type your message and press Enter.

Your message will sent to your friend mobile as a SMS, If your friend replied to your message it will show on same window.

In india - The service currently supports eight cellular operators including Aircel, Idea, Loop Mobile, MTS, Reliance, Tata DoCoMo, Tata Indicom and some circles of Vodafone. BSNL, MTNL and Airtel are not supported yet.
